Disenco Energy
Disenco Energy Plc is close to final development of the first commercially viable micro Combined Heat and Power (m-CHP) appliances suitable for the domestic and commercial market. Currently the size of a washing machine, Disenco's patented HomePowerPlant ("HPP") is a highly efficient boiler at 92% efficiency which not only produces all of the heat and hot water to meet the home and small business demand but all the while generates electricity for end user consumption and for sale back to the national grid thereby saving enormous CO2 emissions.. The HPP appliance, based on proven Stirling engine technology and US $ 250 million of R&D over the last 35 years, is poised to replace standard domestic boilers and furnaces over the next 10 years, as demand for cheaper energy supply in conjunction with low carbon footprint intensifies.
The Company's recent development programme has been undertaken through development contracts with Prodrive Automotive Technology Ltd (Stirling Engine), Enertek Limited (Combustion system), and Sentec Limited (Control System and Power Electronics). The Company retains all IP on any new developments uncovered through these contracts. The Company has also retained the support, on a consultancy basis, of Adigo CHP, the Norwegian consultancy company, who were involved in the initial development of the appliance prior to being acquired by Disenco Limited in 2003.
