One of our objectives at Energy Optimizers is to support electrical power utilities and others in enhancing their portfolio of demand management energy services through the application of our Plogg wireless technology.

Plogg today comprises a range of high-precision single-socket wireless energy monitoring devices for use in homes, offices and across multi-site operations. At a time when so many companies are publicising smart metering projects, Energy Optimizers is one of a handful with device-level product available on the open market.

The extended range of features and electrical parameters that Plogg technology addresses (including reactive power, power supplied back to the grid, and phase angle), along with its support for industry standard hardware and software platforms, open up a wealth of possibilities. For example, Plogg supports remote monitoring and on/off switching over a VPN (virtual private networking) or the internet, making it ideal for smart grid management programmes that can control non-essential customer loading during peak consumption periods. Potentially Plogg could also manage appropriately timed input from distributed microgeneration sources equipped with remote energy storage capability.

We are always keen to build working relationships with utilities and other potential energy management service providers, and can provide access to the Plogg Software Development Kit, software support and, in certain circumstances, quotation for custom development. We are currently working with a number of utility companies and telecoms suppliers in Europe, North America and Australia.
