The technology comprises novel rotary, low friction displacement devices for gas compression and expansion. These devices are integrated with piston engines to provide a more efficient supercharging and energy recovery route to engine downsizing, than is currently available with turbochargers.
Epicam is currently extending the use of its technology to recover waste heat energy rejected in the exhaust gases from piston and gas turbine engines and to convert it to additional shaft power.
The Company aims to assist manufacturers to maximise energy saving in both the manufacture and operation of their next generation engines.
Epicam also plans to develop new systems incorporating its heat recovery technology for a wide range of applications in combined heat and power.
