Building on its reputation for low carbon leadership, last year's Yorkshire & Humberside networking event was the largest and most comprehensive best practice Exchange ever to be held in the UK, even out-growing the equivalent event in London. Over 400 participants used the structured networking facilities at the event to share best practice and develop their plans to reduce their organisations' carbon emissions. Many leading corporations from the region such as Asda Stores, BUPA, Northern Foods and Yorkshire Water were represented.

Last year's event also saw increased activity from start-up companies and university research departments developing innovative low carbon technologies, with many using the event to explore collaboration opportunities and link-up with potential investors
