Discussion Group: Using partnerships to deliver NI186

<< Back to Programme Listing

In October 2007 Suffolk County Council launched a partnership aimed at \'Creating the Greenest County\' (www.greensuffolk.org). This partnership draws in a wide range of local public, private and voluntary sector organisations committed to taking action to make Suffolk a leader in a low-carbon world and work towards our goal of a 60% reduction in CO2 emission by 2025. Building from this, Suffolk County Council is now the lead partner on the ANSWER Project, a major EU-funded initiative involving organisations from 5 countries in work to promote energy-efficient behavioural change (www.answerproject.eu).

This session will examine how the success of these partnerships has enabled all involved to raise the profile of their activities, learn from each other, and get a firm commitment in place that enables a long-term strategic commitment. We will also examine some of the obstacles and drivers in generating community/ business actions as a means to meeting NI186 commitments.
