Phoenix Fuels

Phoenix Fuels: offers both liquid and solid bio-fuels from a uniquely sustainable and traceable source. The company was formed with its founders having both the need and desire to reduce CO² within their core business of UK food production. Bringing together knowledge of how to efficiently grow crops, the group have developed a model where food and fuel can be grown in harmony with each other.

Harvesting Oilseed rape as part of the food crop rotation gives Phoenix Fuels the opportunity to crush the seed from a known field with a known carbon foot print, producing Pure Plant Oil (PPO). This environmentally friendly fuel can be used to power CHP plants and attracts currently 2 ROC's (Renewable Obligation Certificates). As well as this it can be used for road transportation and heating systems.

Phoenix has developed the remaining solids from the crushing process into a unique biomass fuel. To date we don't believe there is any other solid green fuel in the market place that can achieve this products energy value (20-21MJ/Kg) or have such robust traceability measures in place. This product is sold under the company's Green Dragon brand, it comes in either a briquette form for the domestic market or a pellet form for the commercial market.
