On the first of February 2010 the Governmant launched a consultation on the proposed introduction of a Renewable Heat Incentive in 2011. This Discussion Group will explore some of the issues raised in this consultation including renewable heat technologies supported, the level of support offered and how it will interact with other policy instruments such as the Renewable Obligation and Feed in Tariffs. We will also look at what is not covered by the consultation in any detail – i.e. how the levy will be raised and what impact it will have on gas prices.
